The Route des Barrages is a scenic hiking trail with an easy level of difficulty, spanning a distance of 2.223 kilometers and offering an elevation gain of 138 meters. The trail takes approximately 51 minutes to complete.
Starting at the Route des Barrages, hikers will first encounter a parking area, situated just 6 meters from the trailhead, providing a convenient spot to leave their vehicles before embarking on the hike. As you proceed along the trail, about 1.11 kilometers in, you'll come across a free flying area, perfect for taking in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
At the beginning of the hike, only 30 meters from the starting point, you'll find an information point known as Le Carlet. This spot offers valuable insights into the area's history and features for visitors to learn more about their surroundings. Along the way, you'll also encounter another information point called Plan d'Aval, located 400 meters from the start of the trail, providing further educational resources about the area.
About 70 meters in, you'll reach a viewpoint offering breathtaking vistas, allowing you to pause and appreciate the natural beauty of the region. Additionally, benches are strategically placed along the trail at various points, providing hikers with opportunities to rest and take in the scenery.
For those interested in a detour, approximately 330 meters from the start, there is a waterfall worth seeing just off the main trail. Just before heading back, you'll encounter another information point 30 meters from the start known as Plan d'Aval for the last bit of knowledge before concluding your hike.
