Hiking : Pitla Piza de Puez

This hike takes you to the Pitla Piza de Puez peak in a stunning alpine area. The trail is an out-and-back route, spanning 13.819 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1006 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers.

As you start the hike, you will come across a parking area about 7.25 kilometers from the beginning. It's a good spot to leave your vehicle before hitting the trail. Along the way, at around 5.12 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Utia de Puez alpine hut. This is a great place to take a break, refuel, and enjoy the mountain views.

Further along the trail, at about 5.11 kilometers from the start, there are information points to learn more about the area. You will also pass by the Puez Scharte saddle and the Madonna wayside cross, adding a cultural touch to your journey.

Continuing on, at approximately 6.91 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the Pitla Piza de Puez peak. Take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape from this vantage point.

It's important to bring an ample water supply, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike. The trail offers diverse terrain and significant elevation gain, so proper hiking gear and physical fitness are essential.
