Located in the stunning Puez-Odle Nature Park in Italy, this extremely difficult hiking route will take you to the majestic peak of Piza de Puez, also known as Östliche Puezspitze or Piz de Puez. With a distance of 14.462 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1206 meters, this challenging hike is not for the faint of heart.
Starting from the trailhead, you will pass by the informative Utia de Puez alpine hut, perfect for a quick break or a warm meal before tackling the tough ascent. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across the Puez Scharte saddle, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
Midway through the hike, you'll encounter the historic Madonna wayside cross, adding a touch of cultural significance to your adventure. Further along, at a distance of 7.23 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the pinnacle of Piza de Puez, where you can marvel at the panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Remember to stay hydrated as you pass by the drinking water station at the 5.15 kilometer mark, and keep an eye out for the various information points scattered along the trail providing insights into the area's history and geology.
