This challenging hiking route will take you through the stunning wilderness of Pico Barbaricia. The total distance of the trail is 10.393 kilometers, with an elevation gain of 724 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous trek. Starting off at the trailhead, you will come across the Cabana del Puerto wilderness hut only 0.35 kilometers into the hike. This is a great spot to rest and take in the beautiful surroundings. As you continue on, you will encounter the Collado de Sahún saddle at 0.2 kilometers, offering a picturesque view of the area.
Midway through the hike, at around 4.56 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Mollón Cuadrado del Yerri peak. This is a perfect place to pause and admire the panoramic views. Continuing on, you will come across Tusal de la Mina peak at 2.59 kilometers, followed by La Montañeta peak at 4.49 kilometers. These peaks offer breathtaking vistas and are worth the climb.
Towards the end of the hike, at approximately 5.2 kilometers from the start, you will reach the highlight of the journey - Pico Barbaricia peak. This is the highest point of the trail and provides a rewarding view of the surrounding landscape. Take your time here to soak in the beauty before heading back.
