This hiking route takes you through the picturesque area surrounding Pala de la Fuen. With a total distance of 5.84 kilometers and an elevation gain of 809 meters, this route is considered difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across the parking area at Parking de La Espiganosa, situated right next to the trail. Approximately 0.26 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the stunning Cascada de la Espigantosa, a majestic waterfall that is slightly off the main trail.
Further along the path, at around 1.7 kilometers from the start, you will find a tranquil spring where you can rest and replenish your water supply. Continuing on, at 2.5 kilometers, you will reach a peak with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Nearby, at 2.6 kilometers, you will find another peak offering equally stunning vistas.
As you trek onwards, you will encounter more peaks at 2.81 kilometers and 2.92 kilometers into the hike, each providing a unique vantage point of the area. Along the way, you may also spot the historic Fundición del Freixenal at a distance of 0.03 kilometers from the trail, as well as the Gruta fundición cave entrance and some historic ruins.
Towards the end of the route, at 2.5 kilometers, you will reach a saddle where you can take a break before making your way back. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and a fully charged phone.
