This challenging hiking route will take you through the beautiful area surrounding Pala de la Fuen. With a total distance of 5.84 kilometers and an elevation gain of 809 meters, this hike is sure to test your fitness level.
Starting off at the Parking de La Espiganosa, you will find ample parking space to leave your vehicle before starting your trek. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across the stunning Cascada de la Espigantosa, a picturesque waterfall located just 0.26 kilometers from the start.
Continuing on, at around 1.7 kilometers from the beginning, you will encounter a refreshing spring, perfect for a quick rest and refuel. The trail will then lead you to several peaks, including one at 2.5 kilometers, another at 2.6 kilometers, and more at 2.81 and 2.92 kilometers respectively. These peaks offer breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
As you push through the hike, you will pass by the historic Fundición del Freixenal at 0.03 kilometers from the start, as well as the cave entrance Gruta fundicion at 0.18 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the ruins scattered throughout the trail, adding a touch of history to your journey.
Towards the end of the route, around 2.5 kilometers from the start, you will reach a saddle offering a brief respite before heading back. At 2.41 kilometers, you will find another saddle to rest and take in the natural beauty that surrounds you.
Although the trail is marked as difficult due to its length and elevation gain, the stunning views and unique points of interest along the way make it a rewarding experience for avid hikers. Remember to bring plenty of water, wear appropriate footwear, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
