The hike to Pic de Boum is located in a scenic area with challenging terrain, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers. The route is an out-and-back trail covering a total distance of 11.462 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1200.0 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is 5 hours and 39 minutes.
As you begin your journey, you will come across the Parking Llanos del Hospital, where you can safely leave your vehicle before embarking on the trail. Not far from the start, at a distance of 450 meters, you will encounter the ancient Romanesque chapel (Capilla románica) from the 12th century as well as the ruins of the former Benasque Hospital, also dating back to the 12th century.
As you venture further along the trail, you will pass by the Bronze Age burial site before reaching the Ibones de Remuñe, 3.82 kilometers away from the starting point. These beautiful lakes offer a serene spot to rest and take in the surrounding natural beauty.
Continuing on, you will come across the Ibónet de Remuñe at a distance of 3.88 kilometers from the start. This smaller lake is a perfect spot for a quick break before tackling the more challenging sections of the hike.
Midway through the trail, at a distance of 5.73 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Col de Boum (saddle) and the nearby peak of Pic de Boum. The summit provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and is a great spot for some well-deserved rest and photos.
As you make your way back, you may also spot the Corona de Remuñe peak, located 1.02 kilometers from the start, offering another vantage point to admire the natural beauty of the area.
