This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route leads to the majestic Pic de Boum, covering a total distance of 11.462 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1200 meters.
The trail starts at Parking Llanos del Hospital and immediately immerses you in the natural beauty of the area. As you begin your journey, you will come across the Romanesque chapel from the 12th century, Capilla románica, and the ancient Benasque Hospital from the same era, both located just 0.45 kilometers from the starting point.
Continuing on, you will encounter the Bronze Age burial site, Enterramiento Edad del Bronce, providing a glimpse into the region's rich history. Along the way, make sure to stop by the Ibones de Remuñe, located 3.82 kilometers from the start, and the Ibonet de Remuñe at 3.88 kilometers, both offering stunning views of the surrounding lakes.
As you venture further, you will reach the Col de Boum at 5.73 kilometers, followed by the peak of Pic de Boum at the same location, offering panoramic vistas of the landscape. The Corona de Remuñe is another noteworthy peak on the route, located 1.02 kilometers from the start.
For the more adventurous hikers, the Brecha de Mall Barrat at 5.61 kilometers offers a thrilling challenge with its rugged terrain. Additionally, you can explore the cave entrances along the trail, including Forau de la Llana at 0.92 kilometers, and others closer to the midway point.
