The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 8.058 kilometers and an elevation gain of 817 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 3 hours and 54 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will pass by the Fontaine de Sept Hacs, a fountain located just 0.92 kilometers from the trailhead. Further along the path, at 1.74 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Cabane de Bergout, a shelter that unfortunately is closed. Continuing on, you will encounter the Col de Bergout, a saddle at 1.77 kilometers from the beginning, offering a picturesque resting spot.

Around midway through the hike, at 3.1 kilometers from the start, you will find the Cabane du Touroun, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the serene surroundings. As you push onwards, you will come across the Fontaine du Touroun, another fountain located 3.1 kilometers from the trailhead.

Venturing further along the trail, you will reach the Soum de Layens peak at 4.03 kilometers from the start, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. While the Cabane de Légarce is located 2.7 kilometers from the trail, it is unfortunately closed, but you can still appreciate its beauty from afar.

Throughout the hike, you may encounter informative signposts like the ones labeled "Petit Jalon" at various points along the trail. These markers provide interesting insights into the history and nature of the area.
