This hiking route will take you to the beautiful area around Soum de Layens. The trail is 8.058 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 817.0 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 3 hours and 54 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will come across several points of interest along the way. At 1.74 kilometers from the start, you will find the Cabane de Bergout, a shelter that is unfortunately closed. Continuing on, at the 2.7 kilometer mark, you will encounter the Cabane de Légarce, another closed shelter. However, at the 3.1 kilometer point, you will reach the Cabane du Touroun, a wilderness hut that is open for accommodation.

Further along the trail, at 4.03 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Soum de Layens peak, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Other points of interest include the Col de Bergout at 1.77 kilometers, the Fontaine de Bergout at 1.65 kilometers, and the Fontaine de Sept Hacs at 0.92 kilometers.

The route is an out-and-back trail, so you will retrace your steps to return to the starting point. Remember to bring plenty of water, wear appropriate hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
