Welcome to the Añelarra hiking route! This trail is located in a beautiful area with stunning natural landscapes and historical landmarks.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Borne 271 boundary stone, a historic marker located 5.89 kilometers from the start of the trail. The trail will then take you past the Lago del Contienda, a picturesque lake located 1.13 kilometers from the start. Don't forget to take in the breathtaking views of the Añelarra peak, situated 6.25 kilometers from the start of the trail.
Along the way, you will encounter several information points such as La Contienda Azul, La Contienda Negra, and La Contienda Verde, providing you with interesting facts about the area. These points are scattered throughout the trail, with some closer to the beginning and others closer to the end.
The route is an out-and-back trail, so you will retrace your steps on the way back, giving you another chance to enjoy the scenery. With a total distance of 12.5 kilometers and an elevation gain of 659 meters, this hike is rated extremely difficult. Be sure to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear.
