This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Chemin du Lac Bersau. The trail is 10.177 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 698 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 6 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across the historic boundary stone "Borne 309" at a distance of 3.1 kilometers from the trailhead. Further along the trail, at 2.28 kilometers in, you will reach the stunning Ibón de Escalar, a natural water feature that offers a tranquil spot to rest and take in the views.
At the beginning of the hike, you will find the Estación de Esquí Astún parking area, where you can safely leave your vehicle. As you make your way towards the Col des Moines, a natural saddle point 3.1 kilometers from the start, you will pass by refreshing water sources and informational signposts providing insight into the area's history and flora.
Midway through the hike, approximately 5.09 kilometers in, you will encounter another natural water feature before reaching the Lac du Plaa de las Basques at 3.63 kilometers, offering a picturesque spot for a break.
Towards the end of the trail, at a distance of 4.73 kilometers, you will find another water feature before reaching the peak at 5.07 kilometers, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
