This hiking route will take you to the beautiful area around the Refuge de Pombie in the Pyrenees mountains. The trail is 7.676 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 438 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take around 2 hours and 52 minutes to complete.
Starting from the trailhead, you will pass by a parking area before heading towards the Col de Soum de Pombie. This saddle offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and is located approximately 2.66 kilometers from the start of the trail. Along the way, you will also come across informative signs providing insights into the local flora, fauna, and geology.
At around 3.7 kilometers into the hike, you will find a natural spring where you can refill your water bottle and take a refreshing break. Further along the trail, approximately 3.82 kilometers from the start, you will see the picturesque Lac de Pombie, a tranquil mountain lake perfect for a rest stop and enjoying the scenery.
Near the end of the trail, at 3.84 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Refuge de Pombie, an alpine hut where you can take a well-deserved break, grab a snack, and enjoy the mountain atmosphere. The refuge also provides accommodation options for hikers looking to extend their stay in the area.
