This challenging hiking route in the Mare Verte area offers stunning views and a chance to explore various points of interest along the way.

The trail starts at a parking area near the trailhead, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on your journey. As you begin your hike, you will come across the Cabane de Chérue shelter at a distance of 2.49 kilometers from the start. This could be a good spot to take a break and admire the surrounding nature.

Continuing on, you will encounter the Petite Mare du Nord, a small body of water located 2.96 kilometers from the start, followed by the Mare Rouge at 3.3 kilometers and the Mare Verte at the same distance. These serene water bodies provide a tranquil setting for a rest or a picnic.

Further along the trail, approximately 2.48 kilometers from the start, you will find the Cromlechs de la Cabane de Chérue, an archaeological site worth exploring.

With a total distance of 6.596 kilometers and an elevation gain of 700 meters, this hike is rated as difficult. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before setting out. As this route is an out-and-back type, you will retrace your steps on the way back to the starting point.
