This challenging hiking route will lead you to Pico Escalar (Belonseiche), a stunning peak in the area. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 6.55 kilometers and an elevation gain of 604 meters, making it a difficult trek that will take approximately 3 hours.
Starting at the Estación de Esquí Astún parking area, you will begin your journey towards Pico Escalar. At around 0.53 kilometers from the start, you will come across a cafe where you can grab some refreshments before continuing on.
As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by Ibón de Escalar, a beautiful water feature located 2.31 kilometers from the start. The trail will also take you near a spring at 2.28 kilometers and another water source at 2.92 kilometers.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Col d'Audas, a scenic saddle point situated 2.88 kilometers from the start. From there, you will continue onwards to the summit of Pico Escalar (Belonseiche), located 3.28 kilometers from the start.
Although there are other peaks and saddles in the vicinity, such as Nayeta, Naiso, and Collado de Nayeta, they are not directly on the trail and require a detour to reach them.
