Located in the beautiful Béarn region, this extremely difficult 14.7 km circular hiking route will take you on an unforgettable adventure through stunning mountain landscapes.
Starting at the Parking de Bious-Oumettes, you will begin your journey towards the breathtaking Pic d'Ayous, located 5.72 km from the start of the trail. This peak offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area and is a great spot to take in the beauty of the region.
As you continue on the trail, you will come across the Cabane de Bious-Oumette, a wilderness hut located just 0.02 km from the start of the trail. This is a perfect place to take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Col d'Aas de Bielle, a saddle point situated 4.57 km from the start. This location provides a unique vantage point and is a great spot for a photo opportunity.
Finally, as you near the end of the hike, you will reach the stunning Pic les Arougos, located 6.45 km from the start of the trail. This peak offers a challenging climb but the views from the top are definitely worth it.
With a total elevation gain of 943 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before heading out.
