Located in a rugged and scenic area, the hiking route to Gias Gros offers a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. With a total distance of 38.968 kilometers and an elevation gain of 2461 meters, this route is classified as extremely difficult and is estimated to take around 15 hours to complete.
Along the trail, hikers will encounter several points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will come across the beautiful Lago Malinvern, located approximately 6.22 kilometers from the starting point. As you continue onwards, you will pass by the stunning Lago della Testa della Valletta around 17.58 kilometers into the hike.
During the trek, you may also spot the ruins of Ricoveri di Valscura, an historic site that can be found at various points along the trail. Make sure to stay hydrated as there are several water sources like Laghi inferiori di Valrossa and other natural water bodies along the way.
To help hikers navigate the trail, there are informational points scattered throughout, providing valuable insights and guidance. Additionally, there are mountain huts such as Rifugio Malinvern where hikers can take a break and soak in the breathtaking views.
