This hiking route in the area of Poggio Valcagora is an extremely difficult 12.435-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 803 meters that will take approximately 4 hours and 53 minutes to complete. Before embarking on this challenging journey, make sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast.

As you start your hike, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail, allowing easy access for hikers. About 0.6 kilometers into the hike, you will pass by a refreshing spring where you can take a break and refill your water bottle.

Midway through the trail, approximately 3.45 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the majestic peak of Monte Macchialunga. Although it is not directly on the trail, the views from this point are worth the short detour.

Continuing on, at around 6.22 kilometers from the start, you will reach the summit of Poggio Valcagora, the main destination of this hike. Take in the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape before heading back.

On the way back, just 0.04 kilometers off the trail, you will find the entrance to the Grotta di Sant'Eutizio, a cave worth exploring if you have the time and energy.
