Welcome to the Z-Line hiking route in Saalbach-Hinterglemm! This moderate 6.71-kilometer trail with an elevation gain of 481 meters offers a scenic and adventurous experience for hikers.

Starting at the 12er Express parking area, you will begin your journey through lush forests and picturesque landscapes. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest. At 0.16 kilometers from the start, you will find the Hl. Thomas-Kapelle wayside shrine, a historic site worth exploring.

Continuing on, at 0.4 kilometers from the start, there is a bench where you can take a moment to rest and take in the beautiful surroundings. Further along the trail, at 2.18 kilometers from the start, you will find the Hintermaisalm restaurant, a great spot to refuel and enjoy some local cuisine.

As you approach the midway point of the hike, at 2.76 kilometers from the start, you will reach Winkler Alm restaurant, offering a cozy atmosphere and delicious food. Nearby, at the same distance from the start, is the Xandl Stadl restaurant, where you can take a break and enjoy a refreshing drink.

For those interested in learning more about the area, there are several information points along the trail, providing insight into the local history and wildlife. Additionally, there are water sources available at 3.36 kilometers from the start to refill your water bottles.

At the end of the trail, at 3.36 kilometers from the start, you will find the endpoint of this out-and-back route, the Z-Line in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. This trail offers a moderate challenge with its length and elevation gain, so be sure to bring plenty of water and check the forecast before starting your hike.
