This extremely difficult hiking route will take you on a 14.201-kilometer journey with an elevation gain of 139 meters in the scenic area of Lago La Tortuga. It is important to note that this trail is challenging due to its length and elevation, so be prepared for a strenuous hike.

As you start your hike, you will pass by the Estacionamiento E parking area, located right at the trailhead. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across various points of interest. Approximately 2.01 kilometers from the start, you will find a parking area followed by Cabaña Cachamay at 2.36 kilometers, and Mirador Turístico at 2.03 kilometers.

Continuing on, at around 6.35 kilometers, you will encounter the Tigre and Puma shelters, as well as Cabaña 3 at 6.77 kilometers. Further along the trail, at 7.1 kilometers, you will reach the beautiful Lago La Tortuga, providing a serene spot to rest and take in the surroundings.

Throughout the hike, you will also come across several other amenities such as restaurants, viewpoints, waterfalls, and shelters, offering opportunities to refuel and relax. It is advisable to bring an ample water supply and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging journey.

As this route is an out-and-back trail, you will retrace your steps on the way back to the starting point. Be sure to pace yourself and take breaks as needed to fully enjoy the experience.
