Hiking : Refuge d'Ourtiset

This hiking route takes you through a stunning area with a total distance of 16.848 kilometers and an elevation gain of 782 meters, making it an extremely difficult trail. The circular route starts at Refuge d'Ourtiset and offers a variety of points of interest along the way.

As you begin your journey, you will come across a parking area conveniently located at the trailhead. This is a good spot to park your vehicle before starting your hike. Moving along the trail, you will encounter a fountain just 0.02 kilometers from the start, providing a refreshing stop for a quick break.

As you continue hiking, approximately 3.42 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Grotte des Naucs, a cave entrance that adds a sense of adventure to your trek. Further along, at 6.4 kilometers from the start, there is a shelter known as Cabane where hikers can rest and take in the surroundings.

Midway through the hike, at around 8.06 kilometers from the start, you will find Refuge d'Ourtiset, an alpine hut offering accommodation for overnight stays. This can be a great place to refuel and recharge before continuing your journey.

Towards the end of the trail, at 0.09 kilometers from the finish, you will find the Grotte des Corneilles, another cave entrance worth exploring before completing the circular route back to Refuge d'Ourtiset.

Due to the length and elevation gain of this hike, it is important to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate gear. Additionally, checking the weather forecast before setting out is recommended to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
