This extremely difficult 13.655-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the breathtaking area surrounding Étang de Baxouillade d'en haut. The trail starts at the parking area near Étang de Laurenti, where you can already enjoy stunning views of the surrounding wilderness.
As you embark on your journey, you will encounter various points of interest along the way. Around 2.47 kilometers from the start, you'll find Étang de Laurenti, a beautiful water feature perfect for a quick stop to enjoy the scenery.
Approximately 4.26 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across another water feature, Étang de Baxouillade d'en haut, offering a serene spot to rest and take in the surroundings.
For those looking to camp overnight, there are bivouac sites available around 2.91 kilometers from the start, and another one at 2.45 kilometers. If you prefer a more structured accommodation option, Refuge Forestier du Laurenti is conveniently located at the 0.03-kilometer mark.
Along the way, you'll also pass by significant landmarks such as Maquis du Roc Blanc memorial (0.03 km), Col de Laurenti saddle (4.75 km), Plaque commémorative Wojtek Gmerzk memorial (5.17 km), and the imposing Pic de Canras peak (4.86 km).
