This challenging hiking route takes you through the picturesque area around Col du Laurenti and Pont de Claude. The trail spans a total distance of 8.509 kilometers with an elevation gain of 598 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek that is estimated to take around 3 hours and 27 minutes to complete.
As you set out on the trail, you will encounter several points of interest (POIs) along the way. At the beginning of the hike, you will pass by Étang de Laurenti, a beautiful water feature located approximately 2.47 kilometers from the starting point. Further along the trail, at around 2.91 kilometers, you will find a campsite where bivouacking is possible, offering a convenient place to rest and enjoy the surrounding wilderness.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 4.25 kilometers from the start, you will come across another water feature, providing a serene spot to take a break and soak in the natural beauty of the area. Additionally, at 2.45 kilometers from the start, there is another campsite where you can set up for the night if you wish to extend your hike into a multi-day adventure.
For those interested in history, a memorial known as Maquis du Roc Blanc is located just 0.03 kilometers from the trail, offering a poignant reminder of the area's past. As you near the end of the trail, you will encounter Refuge Forestier du Laurenti, a wilderness hut located approximately 0.03 kilometers from the trail, providing a rustic accommodation option for those looking to spend the night in the wilderness.
