This hiking route to Hundshörndl is an extremely difficult 13.922-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 1693 meters. The trail starts at a parking area and winds through picturesque landscapes towards the peak of Hundshörndl.

Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Riedlalm restaurant, where you can grab a bite to eat before starting your journey. As you continue, you will pass by the peak of Hundshörndl, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Midway through the hike, you will come across the Reisensandscharte and Rietzenkarscharte saddles, providing a peaceful resting spot.

While some peaks like Jauzkopf, Rothörndln, Scharleithörner, and Bärenköpfl are located off the main trail, they offer additional exploration opportunities for more experienced hikers seeking a challenge.

As this is an extremely difficult hike, it is important to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, proper hiking gear, and to check the weather forecast before heading out. Be sure to pace yourself and take breaks as needed to enjoy the breathtaking views along the way.
