This hiking route takes you through the breathtaking alpine landscape of Hochzint, known for its challenging terrain and stunning views. The trail is 10.432 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1337 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will test your endurance and skills.
Starting at the Ullachtal parking lot, you'll begin your journey towards Passauer Hütte, an alpine hut located 4.37 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a rest and enjoy some refreshments before continuing on. Along the way, you'll come across Melkerloch, a cave entrance and attraction that is 5.02 kilometers from the start.
As you make your way towards Mittagsscharte, a saddle point at 4.29 kilometers from the start, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Be sure to stop by the Terrasse viewpoint, located 4.37 kilometers from the start, for even more stunning vistas.
The trail also passes by several peaks, including Westliche Mitterspitze, Mitterhorn, and Fahnenköpfl. While these peaks are not directly on the trail, they offer the opportunity for more experienced hikers to explore further.
Throughout the hike, you'll find information points, benches, and picnic sites scattered along the trail, providing opportunities to relax and learn more about the area. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear, as this route is challenging and remote.
