This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the beautiful area of Castiello d’Acher. With a total distance of 12.65 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1208 meters, this challenging trail is not for the faint of heart. It is recommended to set aside almost 6 hours for this hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Refugio Selva de Oza shelter, which is right at the beginning of the trail, providing a convenient resting spot. Further along the path, about midway through, you will find the Campamento Ramiro el Monje campsite, perfect for an overnight stay if you choose to split the hike into two days.
The trail will lead you to the Castiello d'Acher Sur peak, offering stunning views of the surroundings. Make sure to stop by the drinking water stations located along the trail to stay hydrated. Additionally, there are benches available at various points for taking a break and enjoying the scenery.
Before embarking on this challenging hike, make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast. This route is not recommended for inexperienced hikers due to its length and elevation gain.
