This extremely difficult 16.397-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Schönberg (Wildenkogel) peak. The trail starts at the picturesque parking area at Parkplatz Schwarzenbach, where you can leave your car before embarking on your adventure.

As you begin your journey, you will pass by the charming Mittereckerstüberl restaurant, perfect for a quick bite to eat 2.46 kilometers into the hike. Further along the trail, at 5.39 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the Ebenseer Hochkogelhütte alpine hut. This is a great place to take a break and enjoy some refreshments while taking in the beautiful surroundings.

Continuing on, you will reach the peak of Schönberg (Wildenkogel) at 8.2 kilometers from the start, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the area. Make sure to stop by the Kleiner Rauhenkogel peak at 5.9 kilometers from the start for another stunning vantage point.

Throughout the hike, you will come across several points of interest, including various water features and cave entrances. Be sure to stay hydrated and bring enough water for the journey, as well as checking the weather forecast before setting out.

With an elevation gain of 1557.0 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart. However, the stunning views and unique landmarks along the way make it a rewarding experience for those up for the challenge.
