This extremely difficult 16.79 km circular hiking route will take you on an adventurous journey through the stunning area around Mittagkogel. The trail starts at Langwies/Traun Traunbrücke parking area, where you can park your vehicle before starting your hike.

As you begin your trek, you will encounter a water source at the beginning of the trail, just 0.21 km from the start, allowing you to fill up your water bottle and stay hydrated throughout your journey. Midway through the hike, you will pass by another water source, also 0.21 km from the start, providing a convenient refilling spot.

While the Langwies/Traun Traunbrücke shelter is located 0.12 km from the start, it is not directly on the trail, so it may not be easily accessible during your hike. However, you can look forward to reaching several peaks along the way, including Petergupf at 5.78 km from the start, Bergwerkkogel at 6.91 km, and Bannkogel at 6.36 km. The highest peak along the trail is Mittagkogel itself, situated 8.38 km from the start, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

It's important to note that the Loskogel peak, located 5.23 km from the start, is slightly off the trail. Therefore, if you wish to reach this peak, be prepared for a small detour.

With an elevation gain of 1378.0 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart. Make sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and wear appropriate hiking gear.
