Welcome to the Salto del Puma hiking route! This circular route covers a distance of approximately 5.084 kilometers with an elevation gain of 208 meters, making it a moderate level hike.
The trail starts at a convenient parking area located at the trailhead. As you begin your journey, you will pass by Piedra Verde, an informational point about the area just 0.2 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail, at 0.96 kilometers, you will reach the Mirador Quebrada El Sauce, a viewpoint offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Continuing on, at 1.85 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter a tranquil waterfall where you can rest and enjoy the sounds of nature. This spot also offers the opportunity to refill your water supply as it is close to a natural water source.
As you approach the halfway point of the hike, at 2.35 kilometers, you will reach the standout attraction of the route, Salto del Puma. This majestic waterfall is a perfect place to take a break, snap some photos, and admire the beauty of the cascading water.
Along the way back, you will pass by Entre Cerros y Ríos, a fast food spot just 0.05 kilometers from the end of the trail. This can be a great place to grab a quick bite after completing your hike.
