This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning viewpoints and natural springs. The total distance of the route is approximately 18.97 kilometers with an elevation gain of 908 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.
Starting off at the trailhead, you'll come across the Fuente Higuera de la Muda spring at around 0.3 kilometers into the hike. Further along the trail, you'll pass by the Fuente Alta and Fuente Baja springs at 0.23 kilometers into the hike. These natural springs are perfect spots to replenish your water supply, so make sure to bring enough water for the entire journey.
As you continue on, you'll reach the Mirador Los Poyetes viewpoint at 0.06 kilometers into the hike, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The trail then leads you to the Mirador de la Española at 0.18 kilometers in, followed by the Mirador de Lentisco at 0.66 kilometers into the hike. These viewpoints are perfect for taking a break and soaking in the beauty of the area.
Midway through the hike, you'll find the Camping El Genal and Camping San Juan campgrounds at 5.55 and 5.37 kilometers into the hike respectively. These campgrounds are great options if you want to break up the hike into multiple days and spend the night in the great outdoors.
Towards the end of the hike, at around 9.49 kilometers in, you'll come across the Mirador de Dna Carmen viewpoint, offering stunning views as a reward for your endurance on this challenging route.
