Welcome to the hiking route to Peña de El Salvador! This challenging out-and-back trail covers a distance of approximately 8.923 kilometers with an elevation gain of 178 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding journey for hikers.
Starting at the parking area located at the beginning of the trail, hikers will pass by a drinking water point at 0.24 kilometers, providing a convenient spot to refill water bottles. Continuing along the trail, at around 0.44 kilometers, there is a scenic picnic site where hikers can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.
As you trek further, you will come across the historic Castillo de Herce at 4.08 kilometers into the hike. This castle adds a touch of history to the route and is definitely worth a visit for those interested in the region's past.
Midway through the hike, at 3.73 kilometers, another drinking water point is available for hikers to stay hydrated. As you near the end of the trail, at 4.46 kilometers, you will reach the highlight of the route, Peña de El Salvador, a natural peak offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
