This extremely difficult hiking route takes you on an out-and-back journey from Biel to Sto Domingo, covering a distance of 12.931 kilometers with an elevation gain of 523 meters. The total duration of this hike is approximately 4 hours and 18 minutes.
Starting at Biel, you will first come across the parking area, which is located right at the trailhead. As you begin your trek, you will pass by several points of interest along the way.
About 0.07 kilometers from the start, you will find "Pilarín," a bar where you can grab a quick bite or drink before continuing your journey. Further along at 0.45 kilometers, you will come across a shelter and a picnic site. This is a great spot to take a break, enjoy some food, and soak in the surrounding natural beauty. Nearby, there is also a fountain named "Fuente" where you can refill your water bottles.
Around 1.15 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the picturesque waterfall known as "Pozo Tronco." While it is slightly off the main trail, it is worth the detour to admire its beauty. Additionally, at 0.2 kilometers from the trail, you will find the historic Castillo de Biel, a castle with rich heritage waiting to be explored.
As you continue your ascent, at 5.17 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Pui Fonguera, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Finally, at approximately 6.47 kilometers, there is a viewpoint where you can take a moment to rest and appreciate the stunning vistas before heading back towards Biel.
