This challenging 11.02 km hiking route will take you through the stunning area of El Montarruego. The trail starts at the parking area, where you can easily begin your journey. As you make your way along the path, you will come across the Cabana del Puerto wilderness hut, which is located 0.33 km from the starting point.

Around the 4.15 km mark, you will find the beautiful Ibón Chico, a water feature just a short distance from the trail. Continuing on, at the 5.29 km point, you will reach the Collado de la Montañeta o del Cabo la Ball saddle. From there, at 5.51 km, you can also enjoy stunning views from the peak located nearby.

Further along the hike, at the 5.51 km mark, you will encounter another saddle, Collado de Sahún, offering a picturesque resting spot. Additionally, there are benches and informational points along the trail, providing opportunities for rest and interesting insights into the area.

The route is an out-and-back type, leading you back to the starting point. With an elevation gain of 599 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers. It is essential to bring an adequate water supply, as well as checking the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
