This extremely difficult 11.435 km out-and-back hiking route will lead you to the stunning Corno Grande - Vetta Occidentale peak in the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park.
Starting from Piazza C. Amorocchi, you will first pass by La bottega del parco which is a bar offering refreshments just 0.04 km from the trail start. As you continue, at 0.6 km from the start, you will come across Fonte Cristiana, a natural spring where you can refill your water bottles.
Around 2.13 km from the start, you will reach Bar della Madonnina, another bar offering a place to rest and grab a snack. Further along the trail at 4.3 km, Rifugio Carlo Franchetti, an alpine hut, provides accommodation options for hikers looking to extend their journey.
Midway through the hike at 5.44 km from the start, you will find Vista Ghiacciaio Calderone viewpoint where you can take in breathtaking views of the glacier.
