This hiking route takes you through the stunning Campo Imperatore area, offering breathtaking views and a moderate level of difficulty. The trail spans a distance of 3.51 kilometers with an elevation gain of 275 meters, taking approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across the picturesque Piazzale Campo Imperatore parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. Continuing on, you will pass by the Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi alpine hut, a perfect spot for a rest or overnight stay with its opening hours from June to September. Further along the trail, you will find the refreshing drinking water station, providing a much-needed break for hydration.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Campo Imperatore, where you can gather more information about the area before moving towards the highlight of the route - the Picco Confalonieri peak. This natural peak offers a panoramic view of the surroundings and is located towards the end of the trail.
