This hiking route will take you through the beautiful Vercors region, offering stunning views and a challenging trek. The total distance of the route is 11.491 kilometers with an elevation gain of 484 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 3 hours and 52 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area, located right at the trailhead, you will begin your journey towards the first point of interest, the Source de Grailler. This natural spring is located 2.29 kilometers from the start and is a great spot to rest and refill your water bottle.
Continuing on, you will reach the Pas de la Coche, a saddle point with incredible panoramic views, located 2.66 kilometers from the start. This is a perfect place to take a break and soak in the surroundings.
As you hike further along the trail, you will pass by the Combeau information point and the memorial, both located just 0.05 kilometers from the start. These are interesting stops where you can learn more about the history and nature of the area.
Further ahead, at the 4.82 kilometer mark, you will come across the cave entrance, a mysterious and intriguing spot to explore along the way.
Finally, the endpoint of this out-and-back route is the Bergerie du Jardin du Roi, a charming shelter located 5.64 kilometers from the start. This is a great place to relax and enjoy a well-deserved break before heading back.
