Welcome to the hiking route to Gässi! This extremely difficult 13.41-kilometer out-and-back trail offers stunning views and an elevation gain of 1158 meters, making it a challenging yet rewarding hike.
Starting at the parking area at the trailhead, you will first come across the Alpja information point at 3.09 kilometers into the hike. This is a great spot to learn more about the area and its wildlife. Further along the trail at 2.22 kilometers, you will find a drinking water point to refill your bottles.
As you continue on, at 6.71 kilometers, you'll reach a beautiful viewpoint where you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This makes for a perfect spot to rest and enjoy a snack.
Midway through the hike at 5.38 kilometers, you'll encounter the Gletscherrand Riedgletsher information point, providing insights into the glacier and its history.
Towards the end of the trail, at 0.91 kilometers, there is a picnic site and a bench where you can relax before making your way back.
