This extremely difficult hiking route takes you through the stunning Campo Imperatore area, offering breathtaking views and a challenging experience. The total distance of the hike is 12.74 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1167 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous journey that will take around 5 hours and 51 minutes to complete.

As you start your hike, you will come across the Piazzale Marco Simoncelli parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before hitting the trail. As you make your way, you will pass by Camping Funivia del Gran Sasso, a great spot for camping if you plan on staying overnight. Further along the route, you will encounter several restaurants such as Maria and Fiordigili, where you can refuel and rest before continuing on.

At the 4.89-kilometer mark, you will find a drinking water station ideal for replenishing your water supply. As you approach the 6.29-kilometer mark, you will reach the Parcheggio estivo parking area, which marks the halfway point of the hike. Finally, after a challenging trek, you will reach your destination, Rifugio Campo Imperatore Alpine Hut, where you can unwind and enjoy the stunning surroundings.
