Welcome to the Pustertaler Almweg hiking route! This circular trail offers a beautiful hiking experience in the stunning alpine region.
Starting at the trailhead, you will find the Parkplatz Hochstein-Hütte parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before beginning your adventure. As you set off, you will encounter the refreshing Wasserfall water source about 1.32 kilometers into the hike, perfect for a quick rest and refill.
Continuing on, at around 0.43 kilometers from the start, you will reach the cozy Hochsteinhütte alpine hut, where you can enjoy a hearty meal and take in the mountain views. Nearby, at 0.46 kilometers from the start, there is a drinking water station to ensure you stay hydrated throughout your trek.
As you traverse the trail, you will come across the historic Hochstein wayside cross and peak at approximately 1.07 kilometers from the start, offering a glimpse into the area's past. Further along, you will find several benches strategically placed along the path, perfect for a moment of rest and taking in the scenic surroundings.
Before completing the loop, be sure to visit the Hochstein wayside cross located at a distance of 0.82 kilometers from the start, adding a touch of history to your journey.
This 3.058-kilometer route with an elevation gain of 69 meters is classified as easy, making it suitable for hikers of all levels. Remember to bring plenty of water, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before heading out.
