This hiking route takes you through the stunning area of Camino de los Sarrios. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 11.539 kilometers and an elevation gain of 751 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. About 0.33 kilometers in, you'll find an information point to learn more about the surroundings. As you continue onwards, at around 0.7 kilometers, you will reach the Cabane EDF d'Etaëns shelter. This could be a good spot to rest and enjoy the views.
Around the halfway point, at 3.59 kilometers, you'll encounter a Cairn, which marks a significant location along the trail. Further ahead, at 4.72 kilometers, you'll find Laquet, a water feature where you can replenish your water supply.
Continuing on, at 5.77 kilometers, you'll be surrounded by impressive rock formations, adding to the beauty of the hike. Further along the trail, at 5.77 kilometers, you'll also come across another rock formation that is worth exploring.
As you approach the end of the trail, at 5.77 kilometers, you'll reach Pas de l'Echelle, a natural saddle that offers breathtaking views of the area. Finally, at the turnaround point of the trail, at 11.539 kilometers, you'll find yourself back at the starting point.
Before embarking on this challenging hike, make sure to bring plenty of water, as there are limited water sources along the trail. Additionally, checking the weather forecast before setting out is always a good idea to ensure a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.
