This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning views and rich history. The trail is super easy, making it perfect for hikers of all skill levels.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the trail. Just a short distance from the start, there is an alpine hut called Gîte Somport, providing a cozy accommodation option for those looking to stay overnight.
Further along the trail, you will reach Somport, a picturesque saddle that offers a wonderful spot to take in the surrounding natural beauty. Nearby, you can also find the restaurant Albergue Aysa, where you can refuel and rest before continuing your hike.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter various points of interest such as boundary stones like Borne 305 and Borne 305bis, each with its own historic significance. You will also pass by a natural spring called Fuente de Somport, providing a refreshing stop along the way.
As you near the end of the trail, you will find a shelter for a brief rest before making your way back. Don't forget to check out the artwork along the trail, including the Snowplough and Santiago Pilgrim sculptures, adding a touch of artistic flair to your hike.
