This challenging out-and-back hiking route takes you along the Half-collared Kingfisher Trail in the Garden Route District Municipality. The trail spans a distance of 11.031 kilometers with an elevation gain of 72 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek that will take approximately 2 hours and 44 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area, you'll begin your journey through the picturesque landscape, with the Ebb and Flow Rest Camp - South campsite located just 1.22 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to rest and take in the surrounding nature. Further along the trail at 1.18 kilometers, you'll come across a water source, perfect for refilling your water bottles.
As you continue on, around the 2.13-kilometer mark, you'll encounter another water feature for a refreshing break. At the 5.52-kilometer point, you'll be treated to the sight of a beautiful waterfall, providing a perfect photo opportunity.
For those looking to take a break and enjoy a picnic, a picnic site is conveniently located at the 3.5-kilometer mark. Additionally, there are several viewpoints along the way that offer stunning vistas of the surrounding area.
