This extremely difficult 18.159-kilometer circular hike will take you along the Mark Twain Weg, offering breathtaking views and a challenging trek through the stunning landscapes of Zermatt.

The hike starts at the trailhead and takes you through a variety of terrains, including rocky paths and steep ascents, with a total elevation gain of 1425 meters. Along the way, you will pass by several points of interest:

- At 0.11 kilometers from the start, you will find a refreshing water point at a natural spring.
- Around 2.34 kilometers into the hike, there is a lovely restaurant named Matthiol, perfect for a pit stop to refuel.
- Midway through the hike, at 7.19 kilometers, you'll come across Buffet & Bar Riffelberg where you can grab a bite to eat.
- Towards the end of the hike, at 8.46 kilometers, there is an information point at Rotenboden to learn more about the area.
