This extremely difficult and scenic hiking route takes you on a challenging 18.789-kilometer journey with an elevation gain of 1425 meters. The Mark Twain Weg trail offers breathtaking views and a unique experience for avid hikers.
Starting your adventure, you'll find refreshing water at Riffelsee, located approximately 8.67 kilometers from the trailhead. As you continue on, you'll pass by Matthiol restaurant at 2.34 kilometers and Chämi-Hitta restaurant at 4.57 kilometers. Along the way, you'll also encounter the Buffet & Bar Riffelberg at 6.98 kilometers, perfect for refueling.
If you need information or a break, stop by the various information spots located at different points along the trail. You'll find Rotenboden information point at 8.58 kilometers, and other information points at various distances.
For sustenance, there are plenty of options available. Papperla Pub is located at 1.13 kilometers, Al Bosco at 5.07 kilometers, and Pizzeria Le Vieux Valais at 0.79 kilometers. Make sure to stay hydrated by drinking from the fountain at Inderbinen Brunnen, 0.84 kilometers into the hike.
