This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Lac d'Enfer in a beautiful area with breathtaking views. The trail spans approximately 14.778 kilometers and features an elevation gain of 1291 meters, so be prepared for a challenging adventure.
As you start your journey, you'll come across Chalet l'Avalanche, a cozy café located just 0.08 kilometers from the trailhead. It's a great spot to grab a quick snack or drink before you head out.
Further along the trail at 7.39 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Lac d'Enfer, a picturesque lake surrounded by natural beauty. Take a moment to soak in the tranquility of the area and maybe even have a picnic by the water.
On your way back, be sure to stop by Refuge du Maupas, a welcoming alpine hut located at 7.28 kilometers from the start. If you need a break or shelter, this is the perfect place to rest and recharge before continuing your journey.
