This challenging hiking route starts at Granges d‘Astau and takes you through the stunning Pyrenees mountain range in France. The trail spans a total distance of 11.71 kilometers with an elevation gain of 820 meters, making it a difficult yet rewarding journey that will take approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes to complete.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find a parking area for your convenience. As you make your way further into the hike, you will come across Auberge d‘Astau, a cozy cafe where you can refuel and rest before continuing your journey.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Refuge du Lac d'Oô, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to relax and recharge before heading back on the trail.
Towards the end of the hike, you will reach Refuge d'Espingo, another alpine hut where you can rest and relax before making your way back to the starting point at Granges d‘Astau. Along the way, you will also pass by Col d'Espingo, a scenic saddle, and Pic de la Cascade, a stunning peak that offers panoramic views of the area.
