This challenging hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Pic Saillant in the scenic area. The trail is an out-and-back type, covering a distance of 11.989 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1141 meters, and it is estimated to take around 5 hours and 37 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across a convenient parking area just 9.76 meters away from the trail. About 5.89 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the stunning peak of Pic du Gar, followed by the majestic peak of Pic Saillant, located 2.77 meters from the trail at 5.99 kilometers in.
At the 5.89-kilometer mark, you will reach a saddle point, offering a picturesque spot to rest and take in the surrounding natural beauty. Further along the trail at 5.23 kilometers, you will find the Cabane du Pic du Gar, a non-guarded wilderness hut where you can take a break.
Additionally, Col du Hô, another saddle point, awaits you at 2.28 kilometers into the hike, providing a perfect vantage point to admire the landscape. You will also pass by a bicycle parking area and a drinking water facility close to the beginning of the trail.
Along the way, you can visit the Table d'orientation viewpoint, offering a panoramic view of the area, and a fountain located just 0.1 kilometers from the start to refill your water bottles.
