This extremely difficult hiking route takes you through the scenic area of Schmittenweg. The trail spans a distance of approximately 12.932 kilometers with an elevation gain of 809 meters, making it a challenging adventure for experienced hikers.

As you begin your journey, you will pass by the Hochzeller-Alm alpine hut, located 6.46 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the stunning mountain views. Along the way, you will also encounter the Jaga-Alm restaurant, perfect for refueling with some delicious sustenance just 0.01 kilometers from the trail.

Midway through the hike, around 5.95 kilometers from the start, you will come across a shelter for a brief rest stop. Further ahead, at 4.71 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Sonnkogel Alm alpine hut, offering another opportunity to take in the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Throughout the trail, you will find several viewpoints where you can marvel at the picturesque landscapes. Be sure to visit the Salersbachköpfl peak and the Schrambachkopf (Sonnkogel) peak for panoramic views of the area.

As you make your way back, take a moment to relax on the benches located along the trail, such as the ones at 6.12 kilometers and 5.95 kilometers from the start. These provide a perfect resting spot to catch your breath.
