Welcome to the Tuc deth Plan deth Òme hiking route!
This circular route covers a distance of 21.246 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1336 meters, making it extremely difficult and challenging. The estimated duration for this hike is about 8 hours and 15 minutes, so be prepared for a long and strenuous journey.
The trail starts at a designated parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this adventure. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear as this route will take you through rugged terrain and varying elevations.
As you begin your hike, you will come across the Cabane de Peyrehitte wilderness hut around 7.17 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the surrounding wilderness. Further along the trail, at approximately 1.93 kilometers from the start, you will find the Cabane deth Vaquer de Saplan, another shelter to rest and refuel.
On your way, you will encounter various points of interest such as Sestanhons, a water source located around 8.15 kilometers from the start, and other historical landmarks like boundary stones along the trail. Make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed.
Towards the end of the hike, around 9.84 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Tuc deth Plan deth Òme peak, offering stunning views of the surrounding area as a rewarding end to your journey.
