The Arête des 3 Salazes hiking route is located in a breathtaking area with stunning viewpoints and natural beauty. This extremely difficult 15.926-kilometer out-and-back trail boasts an elevation gain of 1598 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding adventure for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area conveniently located at the trailhead. Along the way, you will encounter various points of interest, including two viewpoints that offer panoramic vistas of Marla and La Nouvelle. These viewpoints are perfect spots to take a break, snap some photos, and appreciate the surrounding landscape.
For sustenance, you will find the Snack le Marla (Chez Jimmy) and Tisanerie des 3 Salazes cafes along the trail, where you can refuel and recharge for the rest of your hike. Additionally, there are drinking water stations at multiple points along the route to ensure you stay hydrated during your trek.
As you continue on, you will pass by a picnic site and an alpine hut called Ti Piton, providing opportunities to rest and enjoy the natural surroundings. Further ahead, near the Col du Taïbit, you will encounter informative signposts that share interesting facts about the area's history and landmarks.
Towards the end of the trail, you will reach the Arête des 3 Salazes, where you can appreciate the stunning views before heading back on the same path. Remember to bring plenty of water, wear appropriate hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging trek.
