This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Mount Olympus, known for its stunning views and challenging terrain. The route is an out-and-back type, with the destination being the peak called Σκάλα.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the journey. As you make your way along the path, you'll find a restaurant named Prionia 1100, where you can refuel and take in the surroundings.
About a quarter of the way into the hike, you'll find a spot with natural water where you can replenish your water supply. Further along the trail, at around the 5-kilometer mark, you'll encounter a drinking water station and a bench where you can take a break. Nearby, there is an alpine hut called Καταφύγιο Α' "Σπήλιος Αγαπητός" where you can rest and enjoy the amenities.
As you continue on, you'll reach the peak called Σκάλα, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Along the way, you'll also pass by various benches, information points, and viewpoints where you can pause to appreciate the scenery.
This 15.43-kilometer hike with an elevation gain of 1905 meters is rated as extremely difficult, so make sure to be prepared with proper gear, plenty of water, and snacks. Check the weather forecast before starting your journey and be mindful of your physical condition throughout the hike.
