Welcome to the Sommet de l'Hortus hiking route! This circular trail offers a 5.374-kilometer journey with an elevation gain of 397 meters, making it a moderate-level hike.

Starting at the parking area, you'll begin your adventure by passing by the Château de Viviourès, a historic castle located just 0.84 kilometers from the trailhead. As you continue onwards, you'll encounter ruins from the past, with the first set just 0.82 kilometers into the hike followed by another set at 0.78 kilometers.

Midway through your hike at 2.33 kilometers, you'll have the opportunity to explore Grotte de l'Hortus, a fascinating cave entrance and archaeological site. Be sure to stay on the trail to fully appreciate the natural and historic wonders along the way.

As you approach the summit, at 2.48 kilometers, you'll come across L'Hortus, a popular climbing spot, and the viewpoint offering stunning panoramas of the surrounding area. Finally, reaching the peak at the Sommet de l'Hortus, you can revel in the accomplishment of your hike and take in the breathtaking views.
