This hiking route takes you through the stunning Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes. The 12.349-kilometer trail is considered extremely difficult due to its length and elevation gain of 354 meters, so make sure to be prepared before embarking on this adventure.
As you start your hike, you will pass by the Hippo Haunt Restaurant & Bar, located just 0.2 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to grab a bite to eat or enjoy a refreshing drink before continuing on your journey.
Further along the trail, at the 4.8-kilometer mark, you will come across Execution Hill, a peak that offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Although it's not directly on the trail, it's worth the detour for the breathtaking scenery.
For those looking to spend the night in the sanctuary, the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary campsite is located nearby, offering a convenient resting place for weary hikers.
As you reach the latter part of the trail, around the 5.63 to 5.83-kilometer mark, you will encounter two viewpoints - Bird's Eye and Nyagato. These viewpoints provide a perfect opportunity to take in the beauty of the sanctuary from above, so be sure to stop and enjoy the scenery.
